It was March of 2013 and Steve was riding his long board at Muttonbird Beach, Albany. It was a fine crisp day. As he headed too steeply down the wave he saw a dolphin in front of him. He toppled and the drag began. Tumbled, thrown to the bed and back up. His leg rope broke. His board was gone. He was no longer in control.
In the foam he saw the dolphin ahead. It did not come to his rescue. This is not Disney. It turned out to be just another non-event.
